Disney Infinity Announced for a Summer Release

Pokémon X and Y? What's that? Let's talk about something far more exciting; Disney Infinity.

A while back, rumors started to circle about an upcoming Disney Interactive project that was being designed to out Skylanders Skylanders and feature a wealth of Disney characters. Concept art surfaced earlier in the month, like the picture I used for the header, but few details were released about the game other than the title and the fact that it would bring a bunch of Disney characters together. Today, the game was officially announced and it is glorious.

Well, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (aka Pizzabeer to the Adamant Ditto crew) is coming out this upcoming Tuesday, and as you might know, I'm really excited for it. I think the developers has put a lot of love into the game and has made it different enough  from Smash for it to stand on its own gameplay wise. At launch, the character roster is honestly kind of butt but they recently announced two DLC characters, Kat and Emmet, so there's still a good chance that a character people are clamoring for can show up. So, here's 10 of my most wanted characters that I'd like to see playable in Pizzabeer.

Quirky Ditto - Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Beta Impressions

So recently, Don won a beta key for the upcoming mascot brawler, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale and through the magic of technology, I got to get my hands on it too. So hey, why not do some hands-on impressions and gameplay footage for all you lovely viewers? There's two parts so be sure to check both of them out. It's a pretty fun game and we cover quite a bit, we think anyway. But hey, we're not professionals so don't blame us if we missed something. Or if we swear when we die. A lot.

Let's Try That Again - LittleBigPlanet

This time, we're taking on one of the PS3's flagship titles, Littlebigplanet. Matt, Don and for the first time, Josh and Phil team up and create what may be the worst team in gaming history. There's lots of deaths, suicides, crazy physics and tons of humor. It might be our funniest yet. So sit back, relax and grab some littlebigpopcorn and enjoy Littlebigplanet.




I can't get enough of this one. It is just too funny. One of our funniest, for sure. The combined elements of four of us on screen at once, single hit deaths, puzzles that require teamwork and the comedic genius that is Phil Sykes make for one hilarious Let's Play.

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two Coming This Fall

We've mentioned Epic Mickey a few times in our videos here at Adamant Ditto. This was a game several of us (especially me) were excited about but it didn't quite deliver on the expectations. While the atmosphere, the story and the graphics were all top notch, the camera was garbage, the controls were clunky and there was far too many fetch quests. It wasn't very "epic" at all. Still, a sequel with those problems fixed was something we'd like to see and today, Disney and Warren Spector have announced just that sequel.

Coming to the Wii, PS3 and X-Box 360 this fall, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will feature drop-in, drop-out co-op with Mickey and Oswald, it'll feature a fixed camera, new areas to explore and most interesting of all, it's going to be a musical.

"I'm such a geek about musicals. I love the co-op and next-gen stuff, but for me, when a character breaks into song, which they do on a regular basis in this game, it's magic." - Warren Spector

He also mentioned that Oswald will be there to help whether you're playing alone or with a friend, that the camera has had over 1,000 specific changes made to it and he hopes "you will not have to touch the manual camera controls even once to play through the main story path of this game."And that Frontierland, from Disneyland, will be one of several new areas to be included in the game.

While I myself will remain cautiously optimistic, consider me very interested. I love Disney and the concept of the first one was fantastic so if they can pull this off with fixed controls and camera angles, and with sweet, sweet HD graphics on the PS3, then this could end up being one of the best games of the year.

The Simpsons Arcade Game HD Coming to PSN

Obviously not the HD remake but just as awesome.

Sony revealed today on their Playstation Blog that Konami's classic Simpsons Arcade game is coming to the PSN on February 7th and will feature updated HD graphics and online multiplayer for up to 4 players. Rumors circulated that this game was being released awhile back after an ESRB rating for it showed up and an achievements list appeared on the X-Box Achievements websites but Sony confirmed today that it was in fact being released and would feature HD graphics, though I personally hope it also includes the sprite based original. We love the Simpsons here at Adamant Ditto and this is a great classic beat-em-up that has been released very sparingly in the past, in fact, it's only ever been released on the Commodore 64 and PC Dos. There was also a remake released on iOS in 2009 but it featured new levels, music, graphics and bosses to avoid conflict with Konami so don't even bother. It's very exciting to finally get this classic on console. With online multiplayer at that!

And if you happen to be a Playstation Plus subscriber, you can actually pick up the game for free that same day. Yes, Sony is just giving the game away if you're signed up to their expensive online service. Pretty nice of them. Now, it's only been announced for Playstation Plus but I'd imagine it's being released on the regular PSN the same day. After all, money is money. A wealth of other PSN games, including Far Cry 2, Final Fantasy V and Sonic the Hedgehog are also going to be made free to PS+ users throughout February. Hit the jump to see the full ad.

Update 2/1: Konami confirmed today that the game is indeed seeing release on the X-Box Live Arcade, four days earlier in fact! The Simpsons Arcade HD hits the X-Box Live Arcade this Friday, February 3rd.
