VGM of the Week #61

It's a little late for Christmas and the new year is coming up... But whatever, it's still going to be Winter.

Here's to another year of Adamant Ditto.

VGM of the Week #60

If you're reading this, then the world didn't end, and the Mayans were wrong! (Until someone moves the date again...). Anyway, if you're reading this, it also means it's time for my VGM of the Week!

I wanted to do something that fits in with the Christmas season...I had a few different ones planned, with the help of my fellow Adamant Dittos, of course...Ultimately, I decided against them all, and went with one that I felt better suited Christmas, Animal Crossing City Folk's Christmas Eve Music!

From me to you all, Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! And have a Safe and Happy New Year! I'll see you all in 2013!

New Pokémon Sheet: Piloswine

What an uneventful day...I appear to be back, but who knows, I'll probably fall into another hiatus soon...

Piloswine's always seemed a little odd to me...I really like the design, but there's just something about it that I had always felt didn't fit...I can't quite place it, and it doesn't bug me that much...Anyway, Piloswine's great, and he gets an AWESOME evolution in Gen 4...

Next up is a Pokémon who's original Red and Blue beta name was 'Pocus'

New Pokémon Sheet: Vileplume

Well, it sure looks like I'm gaining steam again...

There's not much to say about Vileplume...I never really liked it, but I also don't hate it...For me, it's always just been kind of...There...I do like it's design, and I think the color changes its had over the Generatiosn is strange, but I never liked it enough to make one...

Next up is the only Ice-Type Pokémon (along with it's Evolution and Pre-evolution) who is in the Brown color group

New Pokémon Sheet: Magcargo

Hey, I'm back! Sort of...Like the last few times, I thought my hiatus was over...I'm not entirely sure I'm completely out of this rut I've fallen into...Anyway...

Everything about Magcargo's design is awesome! I love it! Too bad it's not reflected in most of his stats...Did anyone else ever notice how much Magcargo's head resembles a Koopa Troopa's?

Next up is the first Pokémon  in the National Dex to evolve from a Leaf Stone

VGM of the Week #59

Slow going this week around the ol' Adamant Ditto Blog. Hope you've been enjoying our run through Super Mario 64. In the meantime, have another fresh 64 tune!

Snowboard Kids 2 has one of the most underrated video game soundtracks, in my opinion, and also happens to be one of the most underrated N64 games, in my opinion. I'd definitely recommend checking out the whole soundtrack, but none more strongly than this triumphant tune. Just listening to it makes me want to go snowboarding down a waterfall and drop pans on everybody. And hey, this tune is even a little wintery! Funny, that!

VGM of the Week #58

Hey, I'm early this week. But I was last last time, so it evens out. Shut up; yes, it does. So Did you here about Mega Man X Street Fighter? Sounds frickin' awesome to me. So to celebrate, let's pick a song guaranteed NOT to be in it. Actually, this hasn't been in any game. I just really think this is awesome, minus the thunking beat at the beginning.

Hit the jump for a killer remix.

Let's Try That Again - Super Mario 64

Our 50th Let's Try That Again! We decided to go all out with this one by having not one, not two, but four different people play a single player game. Yes, Ricky, Matt, Don and Phil all took turns collecting 30 Stars in our 50th LTTA Extravaganza! We hope you enjoy our take on one of the most popular games of all time as much as we did.

So hey, we've been putting up our 50th Let's Try That Again slowly over the last two weeks and boy, is it a doozy. We really wanted to do something special for our 50th, so having four people play a single player game for the first time ever seemed like just the ticket and personally, I think it's one of our best. So sit back, relax and have some laughs with our 50th Let's Try That Again.

VGM of the Week #57

Hey folks, my turn for VGM of the Week and by the time you read this, I will be in Disneyland! Yes, as you read this I am probably just now leaving the park, tired as all hell, feet throbbing, waiting for Carissa to finish shopping at the stores that conveniently stay open an hour after closing time on Main Street. It certainly is the happiest place on Earth!

And what better way to celebrate that than with a demented version of one of the happiest songs ever written?!

My choice for VGM of the Week this week had to be something Disney related and I chose to go with a Disneyland related song from the hit Wii game, Epic Mickey.

Epic Mickey might not have been everything I wanted it to be, in fact, far from it, it was plagued with camera issues, poor controls and way too many fetch quests but to give credit where credit is due, the atmosphere is amazing. The game sets up such a fascinating world and as a huge Disney buff, it's a joy to explore and see all the nods and references to both well-known and obscure Disney properties.

Now imagine my surprise when the very first boss of the game is a boss fight with a demonic version of the "it's a small world" clock tower from Disneyland. Man, that boss fight was awesome. Beyond being just a cool idea for a boss, it really is downright creepy. "it's a small world" is the happiest, most innocent ride ever conceived by human beings and this game just flipped it right on it's head. The music that plays during the boss fight, as seen above, just makes everything that much more terrifying because it's a twisted version of the "it's a small world" theme song. I absolutely love it but I can't help but feel like Walt would not approve.

Oh well, better than being stuck in "it's a small world" for 45 minutes...
