New Pokémon Sheet: Vullaby

Wow, I'm on a roll! Too bad I'm not doing Rock types for Halloween, otherwise I would've made a lame Rock & Roll joke! Anyway, onto the actual sheet

Vullaby's kind of interesting...Like Cubone, it wears a Skull...But on it's butt! Aside from that, I end up forgetting about it because this line's Counterpart is far cooler...I'm talking about Rufflet and Braviary, of course! I do like Vullaby more than it's evolution, but Mandibuzz is still pretty cool...Aside from Butt Skulls, I don't have much to say on Vullaby...

Next up is a Pokémon who's Ability can change other Pokémon's Abilities to it's Ability when hit by any attack that touches you.

VGM of the Week #52

Somehow I got lucky enough to get the Sunday right before Halloween for my VGM of the Week so I knew I had to do something spooky. But what kind of spooky music can I pick being a guy who is too big of a chicken to play scary games?

Frantic Factory. That's what.

While Donkey Kong 64 is far from a scary game, the Frantic Factory stage used to scare the crap out of me when I was kid. I don't know, something about the dark corridors, the living toys, the giant machinery it was very atmospheric and that atmosphere was scary. I mean, when you're 10.

As an adult, I realize the reason I probably found this stage so creepy was because of the music. This little ditty is so chilling just in the way it presents itself. From the the wind-up toy noise at the beginning to the music-box like chimes that follow, it's very creepy and fits the stage brilliantly. It still kind of gives me the creeps even at 21 years old. But that also makes it my favorite music track in the game.

I love Donkey Kong 64 and I don't give a damn what anybody else thinks of it and this track is awesome.

New Pokémon Sheet: Deino

Man, what's wrong with me! That sheet took almost a whole day! Yeah, I know, it looks like I'm back to doing this regularly, but I know me...I'll fall into another hiatus before too long!

Deino's a cool guy. He evolves into the same thing with two heads, and then Mr. Puppeteer...All joking aside, I do really like this line. It's an interesting way to give us a Hydra (Going from a quadruped to an airborne Dragon is cool). Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the sheet!

Next up is a Pokémon who seems to be wearing a Skull

New Pokémon Sheet: Sandile

Geez, I really need to get on the ball with these! It's almost been the entire month since I finished a sheet! But what can you expect, it's been 6 years since I started the Project, it's bound to have some lulls (This whole year seems to be one big lull...)...Anyway, onto the 351st sheet: Sandile

The Sandile line has to be one of my favorite Unova Pokémon. I love just about everything about the line (Just not Krokorok or Krookodile's Shiny colors...They bug me...a lot)...Aside from all of the praise, I don't have much to say about Sandile...

Next up is a Pokémon who will Bite anything, because it's Blind

VGM of the Week #51

I'm writing this way early in advance so when it's 5 weeks later, I don't forget! This one comes from probably the most underrated Castlevania game with the most underrated soundtrack, Harmony of Dissonance on the GBA. It's the music that plays on the Name Entry screen.

Like my last VGM post, Batman: Arkham City, why bother even loading up your game when you can sit and listen to this!

Let's Try That Again - Pokémon Snap

Before we discovered Pokémon Showdown, we were planning to do a Let's Play of Pokémon Snap. We finally got around to doing that. So join us as we take a ride down the familiar locales of Pokémon Island, (poorly) snap pictures of the creatures in their naturally environment and complain about the fact that there isn't a sequel yet. It's great!

We've been in quite the Pokémon mood lately. Between all the battles we've been posting from Pokémon Showdown and the release of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, Adamant Ditto is getting their Pokéfreak on. But honestly, this let's play was planned well before any of that happened, we just never got around to doing it. Oh well, we finally did and it's pretty good. It's also our 49th Let's Try That Again. Perhaps we should do something special for our 50th. Hmm....

VGM of the Week #50

Final Fantasy X is one of my all-time favorite RPGs...Yes, I know, I already said Final Fantasy IX is my favorite, but Final Fantasy X's not far behind. It was one of the first video games that I know of that had a fully voiced cast...At the time, it was also the most beautiful game I had ever laid eyes on.

I can honestly say that I can't wait for the HD Remake..Assuming we actually see it! I want to replay it so badly, and I want to do it in HD! Anyway, onto the actual track...I love it! It's the first piece of music you hear in Final Fantasy X, and I think it's the most memorable.

Review: Resident Evil 6

With Resident Evil 4, Capcom (or Capcpom as they are sometimes known) revitalised the survival horror genre and paved the way for a million and one third-person shooter games to follow. Resident Evil 5 continued on that path, disregarding the “survival” aspect and letting you punch zombies and boulders over and over until they explode. On the surface, Resident Evil 6 seems to stretch both ways; its multiple campaigns appear to cater to traditional survival horror and military shooter fans alike.

Once you crack the surface, however, things aren’t that simple.

New Pokémon Sheet: Meloetta

Sorry for yet another long hiatus, I've been pretty busy with some personal stuff, but that makes this Update that much more awesome! Not only am I finally returning to this Project, but I do so with my 350th Sheet!

As always, Click it to see it's actual size!
That's right, Meloetta was my big surprise sheet! It's really hard to believe it's been over Six years since I started this Project, and, as you can read on the sheet (and above it), Meloetta marks my 350th Pokémon Sheet! I'm Proud of myself for making it this far, and I plan on continuing!

Next up is a Pokémon who has the unique Type Combination of Ground/Dark

Review: Pokémon Black 2 and White 2

Like Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum versions before it, Game Freak has honored the fifth generation of Pokémon with an updated re-release. Only this time around, they asked themselves, "Why sell one updated re-release when we could sell two?"

Unlike all those just mentioned, however, Black 2 and White 2 feel much more like honest-to-goodness sequels than mere expansions. That much should have been obvious from the titles alone, I suppose, but I certainly can't say I was expecting this much new and exciting content.

VGM of the Week #49

Slow week on the Adamant Ditto Blog, as you can see by our back-to-back VGM of the Week posts. That's okay - you can enjoy this stellar track from Goemon's Great Adventure while you read my review of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2!

The entire Ganbare Goemon series has consistently fantastic music, blending traditional Japanese shamisen and taiko drums with modern synthesizer and composition. It's always a perfect fit for the setting and always gets me totally pumped up for some extra-difficult platforming. Burning My Soul is my favorite track from Goemon's Great Adventure, though it's appeared in multiple games in the series. One of my favorite tracks, so check it out.
